The Herikawa hide and reinforce the seems of the Kote which attachs the Tenouchi to the Kotegashira.
Tetknit : Material really fast to dry, used mainly for washable Bougu and part in contact with a lot of sweat. It is a synthetic material.
Orizashi : Material that dry fast and lighter than other material. The fiber are however more exposed. It is made from cotton dyied with Aizome.
Clarino/ Synthetic deerskin : Material with a look and properties close to deerskin.
Deerskin/ Shikagawa : The most resistant material used for Bogu. It allies a great sturdiness with great flexibility. It is, however, more difficult to dry than other material, and require more maintenance.
Chagawa : Normal Shikagawa which has been smocked to improve its resistance and durability. Well known for its unique smell.
Kongawa : Normal Shikagawa which has been smocked to improve its resistance and durability. It has been dye with Aizome. The smell is fainter that Chagawa.
Shirakawa : Bleached deerskin which has not been dyied. It is more delicate and flexible than Chagawa and Kongawa.
